Mahabubnagar: Tension prevailed at Chinna Chintakunta mandal with farmers staging a protest demanding the State Government to extend assistance under Rythu Bharosa scheme.

Raising slogans against the Congress government, the farmers assembled in large numbers at Pardipur village on Thursday morning. The BRS party leaders and workers also joined the protest.

As the farmers and BRS workers were staging protests, the Chinna Chintakunta police booked cases against 20 farmers and BRS workers. Stating that they would not fear police cases, the BRS workers and farmers took out a rally from the police station to crossroads in protest against the police high handedness.

Later, they also formed human chain in the mandal headquarters and raised slogans against the government. They warned that protests would be continued till the government extends assistance under Rythu Bharosa.
