Mahabubnagar: Students of the Post Graduate Centre in Kollapur lodged a complaint with the police against Principal Mark Poloneyes, alleging that he sexually assaulted and mentally harassed a student.
According to the complaint, the Principal allegedly summoned the student to his room at around 10 pm on Tuesday and sexually assaulted the victim.
The student also charged that the Principal had subjected to mental and physical torture. Unable to bear the assault, the student reportedly bit the Principal’s private part, following which he fled the room and has since been absconding.
The student had visited the college along with a few others on Saturday to collect his marks memo and other certificates. While handing over the marks memo, the Principal allegedly asked the victim to return on Tuesday night to collect transfer certificate, claiming he was on leave.
Suspecting the Principal’s intentions, the student informed the issue to other friends in advance. The students allegedly recorded videos of the incident on their mobile phones and tried to catch the Principal, but he managed to escape, according to reports.
The student later lodged a complaint at the Kollapur police station. The student complained that the Principal had assaulted in the past as well.
Students of the PG Centre gathered outside the police station, demanding justice and immediate suspension of the Principal. They also submitted complained to Palamuru University Vice-Chancellor G.N. Srinivas, seeking stringent action against the Principal.
