Mahabubnagar: Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud directed the district officials to initiate measures for setting up Basti Dawakhanas at four places in the town within a week.
These Basti Dawakhanas will be on par with corporate hospitals and would be set up at Yenugonda, Old Palamuru, Veerannapet and TT Gutta in the town.
The Minister held a video conference with Collectors of Narayanpet and Mahabubnagar and elected public representatives to review the Covid related arrangements and implementation of lockdown, from Mahabubnagar collectorate on Tuesday.
He instructed officials to initiate measures for ensuring there were sufficient oxygen, beds, medicines and other materials and avoid inconvenience to people.
In case of any person complaining of cough, cold and other symptoms, immediately tests should be conducted at the Dawakhanas to detect Covid early and commence treatment accordingly, he said.
Apart from Basti Dawakhanas, special clinics should be set up at different places in the town utilising the services of 12 doctors recruited recently, he said.
Regarding the dearth of doctors and oxygen cylinders in the Narayanpet district, the Minister immediately issued instructions to post a general medicine doctor from Government Hospital in Mahabubnagar to Narayanpet district. He also directed the hospital management to arrange for supply of 10 oxygen cylinders to Narayanpet immediately.
He directed the officials to stay cautious and implement lockdown effectively. All measures should be taken to minimise problems for people and implement the guidelines as issued by the State Government, he said.
In rural areas, mini covid care centres should be set up to extend quality treatment to people, he added.
