Mahabubnagar: Gadwal MLA B Krishna Mohan Reddy on Friday released Krishna River water from Dharur mandal reservoir to the canals after performing puja to the river. He said the State government’s aim is to provide water to tail-end lands cultivated by farmers under the Jurala and Nettempadu projects.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said due to heavy rains in the upper riparian States, Jurala project was receiving good inflows and the water was being pumped into the reservoirs to be further released into the canals to irrigate the agricultural lands. Farmers were urged to make optimum use of water regularly to grow crops.
