Hyderabad: Film industry and audiences are likely to hear some good news in another 10 days, said Superstar Mahesh Babu. He was speaking to media persons on Thursday soon after meeting Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at Amaravati.
“We’ll hear good news in one week or another 10 days. Talks with the AP Chief Minister went on well and we’re happy. Once again, a big thank you to the government of AP,” he added.
SS Rajamouli, who also spoke during the meeting, said he was completely amazed by AP CM’s understanding of cinema and the problems of big and small producers and the struggling exhibition sector. “We’re just blown away by his understanding of various aspects of cinema. We’re very thankful to him for patiently hearing our pleas. We thank Cinematography Minister Perni Nani,” he said. Rajamouli further showered praises on Megastar Chiranjeevi for facilitating the meeting with the AP government.
Later, Prabhas thanked the AP government with a small one liner, “AP CM understood our industry problems and responded well. I thank Chiranjeevi garu,” he said.
R Naryaana Murthy who was also part of the delegation, stressed the need for survival of small cinema. He said if every theatre gets a big film at every festival, survival of small cinema is very less. Seventy percent of Telugu cinema constitutes small and low-budget films, he added.
Minister Perni Nani said Jagan Mohan Reddy has responded positively over the prevailing problems in the film industry and added the Chief Minister urged the film delegation to come with a plan to address the issues. “Since 70 per cent of the film industry constitutes small cinema, emphasis will be laid on low budget films and the government will see that small films are not affected by any means. A proposal on film shootings in Andhra Pradesh is also on the cards,” he added.
