Khammam: Farmers staged a protest in the morning by locking the premises of Chintakani Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society office cum storage building in the district on Friday.
The protesting farmers complained that officials were deliberately delaying the transportation of weighed maize stocks. They accused the officials of showing bias in dispatching trucks to lift the stocks and the trucks were being provided to the farmers belonging to the ruling party.
The farmers insisted that they would not call off their protest until district officials visit Chintakani and resolve the issue. They further stated that due to delay in transporting weighed maize from the procurement centres the stocks were being burnt due to fire accidents.
