Major burglary at Venkateswara Swamy Temple in KPHB; gold, silver stolen
Thieves broke into Venkateswara Swamy Temple in KPHB early Wednesday, stealing gold and silver ornaments worth several lakhs. Police registered a case and formed four special teams. CCTV footage shows the suspects fleeing towards Vasanth Nagar.

Hyderabad: A major burglary took place at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Sardar Patel Nagar in KPHB and decamped with gold and silver ornaments worth several lakhs on Wednesday.
According to police, two unidentified persons broke into the temple in the early hours, allegedly forced open the sanctum sanctorum with hand weapons and fled with gold and silver ornaments adorning the deity, weighing around 15 tolas of silver and 3 tolas of gold.
The theft was discovered in the morning, following which temple committee members alerted the police.
Police who inspected the scene said the suspects were seen moving towards Vasanth Nagar after the crime, as recorded in the CCTVs in the neighbourhood.
Based on the complaint, a case has been registered and four special teams have been formed to trace and arrest the burglars at the earliest.
