Hyderabad: A major burglary has been reported from Bommarasipet village in Shamirpet on the suburb on Friday.
Unidentified burglars allegedly broke into the residence of Nageswara Rao by forcefully opening the door locks when the family was away.
According to the complaint, the miscreants made away wiath nearly 20 tolas of gold ornaments and cash amounting to Rs 2 lakh, causing significant financial loss to the family. The burglary came to light when the house owners returned and found the premises ransacked on Friday morning.
On receiving the complaint, Shamitpet police registered a case and took up investigation. Police teams inspected the crime spot, collected clues, and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas.
Efforts are on to identify and nab the burglars at the earliest, they said.
