Major drug racket busted in Nalgonda
Nalgonda police and EAGLE busted a major drug racket involving opioid-based tablets, arresting an electrician and identifying a medical shop owner as supplier. Over 2,400 Spasmo-Proxyvon and 345 Tramadol tablets were seized, and investigations continue to apprehend remaining consumers
Hyderabad: A major pharmaceutical drug racket involving a medical store owner and an electrician was busted by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) and Nalgonda police on Monday. The police seized a huge quantity of Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus and Tramadol (Ultra King) tablets from them.
On information, the EAGLE teams and Nalgonda police, in coordination with the Drug Control Administration, caught one Mohd Zabiulla (35), a resident of Nalgonda district, while he was transporting the narcotic tablets on his bike to deliver to customers.
“Zabiulla was buying the tablets without any valid prescriptions from a medical shop owner, Daram Krishna Sai of Mahbubabad. He purchased a strip of tablet for Rs 100 and sold it for Rs 200,” said an official.
The police said that Zabiulla was purchasing the opioid based drugs for a long time and selling to people who include youth and working individuals. The police identified 10 consumers and apprehended three of them, while efforts are on to nab the remaining.
The police seized Spasm0- Proxyvon – 2400 tablets, Tramadol – 345, two mobiles and a motorcycle. A case is registered.
