Nalgonda: A major fire erupted at Yadadri Ultra Mega Thermal Power Station (YATP) on Sunday, leaving a few key components extensively damaged. Officials claimed there was no loss of life or injuries in the incident.

According to preliminary investigation, it has been ascertained that the fire occurred due to lubrication oil leakage at the pump. Due to the oil leakage, thick smoke enveloped the plant area.

A few key components, including control cables and valves, were damaged in the fire. With the plant staff responding immediately and extinguishing the fire, main equipment, including turbines and boilers, was not affected by the fire, as per reports.

The TGGENCO officials have reached the spot to ascertain reasons behind the incident and the loss suffered. An internal inquiry has also been ordered into the incident, the reports said.
