Hyderabad: A major fire broke out in a footwear shop in Hayathnagar on city outskirts on Thursday evening. No casualties were reported.

Officials suspect a short circuit led to the fire. The workers, who noticed the fire from a footwear load in the shop, alerted the Fire department and police, following which a fire engine was rushed to the spot and the flames were put off.

The cost of the property damaged was yet to be ascertained. The Hayathnagar police are investigating.
