Major General G Srinivas assumes charge as GOC of Telangana & Andhra Sub Area
Major General G Srinivas assumed charge as General Officer Commanding of the Telangana and Andhra Sub Area and paid tribute to fallen soldiers at the War Memorial. A veteran artillery officer, he brings 35 years of command, staff, instructional, and United Nations experience.
Hyderabad: Major General G Srinivas, on assuming the appointment of General Officer Commanding (GOC), Telangana & Andhra Sub Area (TASA), on Wednesday, paid homage to the Bravehearts at the War Memorial and laid a wreath in a solemn ceremony.
The officer is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, and did his early schooling from Sainik School, Korukonda. He was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in 1990.
A graduate of the National Defence College, he is also an MPhil in Defence and Security Studies and an MPhil in Management Studies. During a career spanning 35 years, he has held important Command, Staff, and Instructional assignments, including an exposure with United Nations in Democratic Republic of Congo, Military Secretary Branch, Command of a Brigade in Strike Formation, Brigadier Quartermaster of a Corps, and Chief Instructor at School of Artillery.
As Major General Operational Logistics of a Command in Western Front, the officer played a pivotal role in ensuring Operational readiness of the Command during Op Sindoor.
