Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has opted for a major reshuffle of the police top brass in the State and it is expected that over 30 IPS officers are likely to be transferred in the State.
This would be the major police reshuffle in the recent times, as IPS officers reshuffle was practically not seen in the last five or six years, save for a very few transfers here and there.
Sources say, the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar, Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwath and many others are likely to be shifted. Among the senior police officers, CV Anand who reported to State Government after his stint with the Central Forces has been waiting for posting.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) is reported to have finalised the postings and the Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao is stated to have cleared the postings. But there has been no official communication so far, but indications are that the orders would be issued shortly.
