Warangal: Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao has appealed to TRS cadres to organise village-wise protests, ‘Chavu-Dappu’ processions and demonstrations to protest against the anti-farmers’ policies of the BJP government at the Centre on Monday.
Participating in a teleconference with party leaders of erstwhile Warangal district on Sunday, Errabelli asked the party leaders including MLA, MLCs, and other important leaders to make the protests a great success to mount pressure on the Centre.
“The protests should be held in every village as per the call given by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao,” he said, adding that the TRS government had made agriculture a ‘festival’ (profitable occupation) by helping farmers with free electricity, providing plenty of water through Kaleshwaram project, Rythu Bandhu and other benefits.
“Millions of acres have been newly cultivated and the crop yield in the State has increased significantly,” he said, and flayed the Centre for its reluctance to purchase paddy in Yasangi.
Stating that he would not be able to take part in the protest since he was in Delhi, Dayakar Rao said former minister Kadiym Srihari will participate in protests in Palakurti constituency. “Farmers should participate in the protests and sound the ‘Chavu Dappu’ in every village,” he added.
Minister Satyavati Rathod, former Deputy Chief Ministers Kadiyam Srihari, MLA T Rajaiah, Government Chief Whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, Rythu Bandhu Samiti State President Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, MLAs Redya Naik, Mulugu ZP chairman Kusuma Jagadish, and other TRS leaders participated in the meeting.
