Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao urged various department officials to make coordinated efforts to ensure that Telangana State gets the top position in the ensuing Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) rankings.
Speaking at a meeting at MCR HRD Centre on Wednesday to review the work happening on the EoDB front, the Minister said the State had earlier topped the EoDB rankings due to the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and also the sustained efforts of various departmental heads. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and other departmental heads also attended the meeting.
The industry department officials apprised that various reforms as suggested by the Central government have been completed. The Centre would take feedback from several industrial categories about services being accessed from various departments. This feedback would be a key factor in deciding the rankings, the industry department officials explained.
Rama Rao said that Telangana has been attracting investments across sectors due to the proactive policies of the State. These were resulting in creation of local employment. EoDB rankings too had helped in attracting investments. Efforts to improve the EoDB ranking will not just strengthen the industries department but other departments as well, he said.
Putting the interests of the State interests first will ensure top rankings, he said adding that more than 300 changes have been brought about across departments. Rama Rao, who reviewed the departmental progress, gave suggestions and laid out guidelines for achieving the goals set.
