Malkajgiri police book over 3000 cases against footpath encroachments

The Malkajgiri Traffic Police conducted a special enforcement drive against footpath encroachments and carriageway obstructions, booking 3,497 cases and collecting Rs 6.03 lakh in fines. Zone-II recorded the highest violations, with Uppal Traffic Police Station registering 804 cases

Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Traffic Police on Thursday conducted a special enforcement drive against footpath encroachments and carriageway obstructions across multiple traffic police station limits, booking a total of 3,497 cases and collecting fines amounting to Rs 6.03 lakh.

According to officials, 1,581 cases were registered for footpath encroachments, while 1,916 cases were booked for carriageway obstructions during the drive.


Traffic Zone-II recorded the highest number of violations with 1,872 cases and penalties worth Rs 3.70 lakh. Uppal Traffic Police Station alone registered 804 cases, the highest among all police stations.
