Malkajgiri traffic police book 286 for drunk driving in weekend crackdown
Malkajgiri traffic police booked 286 persons during a weekend drunk driving drive. Courts sentenced 30 offenders to jail and imposed fines on others, while 10 individuals recorded high blood alcohol levels. The drive reflects intensified enforcement against drunken driving in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri traffic police, during weekend special drunk driving checking, caught 286 persons and booked cases against them.
Among those held are 251 two-wheeler riders, nine three-wheeler drivers, and 26 four-wheeler riders. A total of 10 persons had BAC levels between 301 mg / 100 ml and 550 mg/100ml.
Meanwhile, a local court sentenced 30 persons who were caught during drunk driving checks last weekend to jail terms, while it imposed a fine on two persons and also directed them to do social service. Also, the court imposed a fine on 186 persons who were caught during the drunken driving check conducted last weekend.
