Malla Reddy inaugurates CCTV cameras in Rachakonda
Officials said the project was completed at a cost of Rs.25.50 lakh. These cameras would further be connected to the Command and Control Room at Ghatkesar police station.
Hyderabad: As part of expanding the Community CCTV camera network across Rachakonda Commissionerate, Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy inaugurated 125 surveillance cameras at Shiva Reddy Guda in Ghatkesar on Thursday.
Officials said the project was completed at a cost of Rs.25.50 lakh. These cameras would further be connected to the Command and Control Room at Ghatkesar police station.
The cameras have been installed at strategic locations covering entry and exit points, main routes and crime-prone areas of the region. They will be addition to the existing 471 community surveillance cameras and 2,859 ‘Nenu Saitham’ cameras installed under the Ghatkesar police limits. In the recent past, snatching cases, a house burglary and robbery cases were detected with the help of CCTV footage.
The Minister applauded the Ghatkesar Municipal chairperson and others for taking the initiative to install CCTV cameras and urged citizens to support installation of more cameras for a safer Rachakonda.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat also spoke.
