Hyderabad: Malayalam megastar Mammootty has an impressive lineup of films and they all belong to different genres. The legendary actor’s most-awaited movies are “Puzhu”, “Bheeshma Parvam”, “Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam”, “CBI 5”, “Bilal”, and fans are in for an exciting 2022. First look posters, teaser and on-location shoot visuals released so far are simply mesmerizing for their ability to captivate the viewer, and the buzz around them has been steadily growing.

Known in the past for taking up even critically-acclaimed projects, and giving a massive step up for first-time directors, Mammukka is no different this time. While “Puzhu” marks the debut of filmmaker Ratheena, “Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam” is directed by Lijo Jose Pellisery, who is riding on “Jallikattu” wave. For his other two movies – “Bheeshma Parvam”, and “CBI 5” – the actor sticks to the strength of the filmmakers.

Here are details on two upcoming movies:

“Puzhu” Teaser unveils Mammootty’s mysterious character

Since the day “Puzha” teaser released, the hype is in full swing, translating into massive views, likes and shares on YouTube and social media. “Puzhu” (meaning ‘worm’) teaser looks like a crime thriller, where Mammootty seems to have played a character with greys shades, roles in which he excels.

In the 39-second short video released on January 1, Mammootty is seen in a frame with his son uttering a few lines that seem to have instructed his ward who does not like being dictated by him. The teaser begins with Mammootty telling his son, “We have to share what we have. It’s good. Only then will we become good human beings.” And continues saying, “That doesn’t mean we have to accept what they offer … Kichu doesn’t need that, do you?
After this, we see the child aiming with his toy gun at Mammootty in a family photo hanging on the wall, and hits on his forehead, indicating all is not well in the father-son relationship.

The fear-inciting mysterious looking teaser is full of suspense, highly promising, keeps the viewers excited, and ultimately raising expectations of many. This teaser is getting viewers hooked on to its narrative which is complex. The teaser with Mammootty’s character appearing to be in more negative shades has been receiving huge acclaim. The first look poster unveiled prior to this teaser shows Mammootty’s character is not a completely negative personality. A look of the first poster and the teaser elicits mixed amotions among viewers. Now, the big question remains – Is Mammootty’s role positive or negative? The versatile actor has done positive and negative characters in equal measure in his sprawling career. The plot line has remained largely under wraps.

“Puzhu” featuring Parvathy Thiruvothu as the female lead, is directed by debutant Ratheena, written by Harshad, Sharfu and Suhas, and produced by Dulquer Salmaan under the banner Wayfarer Films, along with S George’s Cyn Cyl Celluloid.

“Bheeshma Parvam” character posters take internet by storm

Eye-catching posters giving people the first impression about the film and its content have hit the social media. Actors’ characters have got a makeover and are super impressive, forcing audience to speculate the roles the actors are playing.

And then, the Amal Neerad-directed “Bheeshma Parvam”, touted to be a gangster drama, became the talk of the town for two reasons – the posters which look intriguing, and Mammukka returning as a don once more. A fierce and mass-looking Mammootty playing Michael in the movie is revealed. Marking her Malayalam debut, featuring as Alice, a middle-aged woman & cast opposite Mammootty, is Anasuya Bharadwaj, known for her hard-hitting character roles in Telugu. Anasuya in the 2019 Telugu movie “Yatra” which also starred Mammootty had a cameo.

“Bheeshma Parvam” slated for release on February 24, 2022 is the second collaboration between Mammootty and Amal Neerad 14 years after their crime drama “Big B”.
Content is the wow factor in both these movies that are packed with lots of emotions.
