Man accused of sexually assaulting minor dies after mob assault in Hyderabad
A 55-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl died during treatment after he was allegedly assaulted by the victim's relatives and local residents in Hyderabad's Kulsumpura. Police have registered a case and said those involved in the assault will face legal action.
Hyderabad: A 55-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl died while undergoing treatment after he was allegedly attacked by the victim’s family members and local residents in Kulsumpura on Thursday night.
The man, identified as Abdul Aziz, reportedly sold tea near Niloufer Hospital and lived in a double-bedroom housing complex in Kulsumpura.
Police said the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, a Class IV student. The incident was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras, following which the girl’s family members and local residents confronted and assaulted him.
Aziz suffered grievous injuries in the attack and was shifted to Osmania General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The Kulsumpura police have registered a case and are investigating. Officials said those involved in the mob attack would face legal action.
