Hyderabad: The Jeedimetla police arrested a man who had killed a woman by strangulating her after she refused to have sex with him.
The man Gajjala Naresh, a footpath dweller from Jeedimetla and a native of Karnataka, was known to the victim Padma. The woman was allegedly a sex worker and stayed on the pavement at Qutbullapur signal.
“Naresh on a few instances asked the woman to accompany him. However, the victim refused to go anywhere with him. Naresh felt insulted due to it and planned to take revenge,” said Jeedimetla Inspector, G Mallesh.
On December 10, night after noticing the woman going along with a man on a bike, Naresh waited her to return. He again requested the man to accompany him and spend time. “The woman refused again and Naresh got angry. After midnight, he strangulated the woman and later to ensure she is killed hit on the head with a cement block. After confirming the woman had died, he escaped,” said the Inspector.
On a complaint, the police registered a case and arrested Naresh. He was remanded.
