Man arrested for smuggling ‘desi daaru’ from Maharashtra to TG in Asifabad

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A man was arrested for allegedly smuggling illicitly distilled liquor from Maharashtra to Telangana, at Venkatraopet village on Thursday. Police seized 240 bottles containing 180 ml of liquor each and a two-wheeler from his possession. The value of the alcohol was assessed to be Rs 13,500.

On being interrogated, Chand confessed to liquor smulling for making easy money for the past few months. He revealed that people from border areas of Telangana would prefer desi daaru (country liquor) over Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) considering the reasonable price for the drink.
