Hyderabad:  The Hyderabad Cybercrime police arrested a person who had allegedly cheated a man after collecting money from him on the pretext of selling an embroidery machine.

Peketi Veerababu (30), a resident of SR Nagar and a native of Andhra Pradesh, had posted an advertisement on an online portal about the sale of an embroidery machine. After going through the advertisement, a man contacted Veerababu and expressed his desire to purchase the machine.

“Veerababu asked the man to make an online transfer of Rs 2.30 lakh towards the cost of the machine. Later, he switched off his mobile phone,” said R G Siva Maruthi, ACP Cybercrimes.

Following a complaint, the police registered a case and arrested Veerababu.
