Hyderabad: A man who was arrested in a case of kidnapping a minor girl escaped from Tandur police station in Vikarabad district.
The incident occurred early this week and came to light on Thursday.
According to reports, Mohd Azeem, a barber from Delhi, came to Tandur six months ago and was working at a salon. During his stay, he befriended a 16-year-old girl, and on Saturday kidnapped her and came to Hyderabad.
He was planning to leave for Delhi along with the girl when the police, acting on a complaint from the girl’s parents, traced Azeem in Hyderabad and arrested him. The girl was rescued.
He was shifted to Tandur police station. The man was reportedly handcuffed and kept at the Tandur police station to be produced before the court.
On getting an opportunity, Azeem escaped from the police station. The police later noticed that Azeem was absconding and formed special teams to trace him.
