Hyderabad: A man was attacked with a sickle in full public view on the main road in Budvel village in Rajendranagar here on Thursday afternoon. Previous enmity is suspected to have led to the attack.
The man, identified as Ramesh (35), a trader was attacked with the sharp weapon allegedly by one Balaiah, (36), an agriculturalist at a local market.
Sources said Balaiah, who reportedly was involved in a murder case earlier had frequent arguments with Ramesh over cattle fodder. After one such argument, Balaiah grabbed a sickle from a nearby spot and charged at Ramesh, who tried to resist the attempt. However, Balaiah overpowered and attacked Ramesh, resulting in deep injuries.
People who were at the spot rushed to Ramesh’s rescue and he was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Rajendranagar, where he is being treated. His condition is said to be stable.
The Rajendranagar police have booked a case for attempt to murder and are investigating.
