Sangareddy: In a stroke of remarkable luck, a man who filed over 100 applications for liquor shops in the district along with his two friends managed to secure three wine shop licences in the Patancheru area.
The draw of lots for liquor shop tenders was conducted at the Sangareddy Collectorate on Monday. The applicant, K. Vamsidhar Reddy, and his friends Harish and Murali had jointly submitted more than 100 applications. Interestingly, all three shops they won were registered under Vamsidhar Reddy’s name.
The trio was on cloud nine after learning that the allotted shops, Nos. 32, 34 and 40, were all located in Patancheru, an area known for recording some of the highest liquor sales in the district.
