Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a petty argument over money led to a man losing his discretion and biting off a woman’s index finger in Madhuranagar.

As per available information, a woman named Mamatha and her husband Hemanth had been living in the penthouse of a woman named Sujitha for rent for the past three years in Jawaharnagar in Jubilee Hills.

Mamatha was into chit fund business and Sujitha reportedly had to pay Rs 30,000 to Mamatha.

Recently, Mamatha’s family had vacated the penthouse and moved into another house. On Sunday, Mamatha and her husband Hemanth came to Sujitha’s house to collect the money. They insisted on returning it immediately as they needed money urgently.

During this, an argument broke out between Mamatha and Sujitha forcing Sujitha’s mother Latha (50) to intervene and try to pacify. Even as Latha was trying to pacify them, Hemanth, who allegedly lost his discretion, bit Latha’s index finger of the right hand which got cut and fell off.

She was immediately taken to the hospital, and the doctors are learnt to have told it was not possible to reattach it. Based on Sujitha’s complaint, the Madhura Nagar police booked a case and took up investigation. Hemanth was taken into custody.
