Man booked for raping minor girl in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A man was booked for allegedly raping the 15-year-old daughter of the woman, with whom he is into a live-in relationship, at Banjara Hills.

The 35-year-old suspect, who is a construction worker and the girl’s mother, who is a divorcee, developed an extra-marital affair. The couple started living together with the woman’s children.

Police said for the last few months, the suspect had been harassing the girl who stayed with them, in the absence of her mother. He had made sexual advances too. However, due to fear of stigma, the girl remained silent.

About ten days ago, the suspect overpowered and raped the girl in the house, when her mother and brother were away. The girl informed her mother about it and she lodged a complaint.

Based on her complaint, the Banjara Hills police booked a case and are investigating. Officials said the suspect was absconding.
