Man caught with 18.5 kg marijuana on Konark Express

A 22-year-old man, Niranjan Pradhan, was arrested by EAGLE Force and Railway Police in Hyderabad for transporting 18.5 kg of marijuana worth Rs 9.26 lakh on the Konark Express.

Hyderabad: The EAGLE Force along with the Railway Police on Friday, arrested one Niranjan Pradhan (22) and seized 18.5 kg of marijuana worth Rs 9.26 lakh during a checking operation on the Konark Express.

Police said Niranjan was allegedly transporting the contraband from Odisha to Pune on the instructions of an absconding supplier, Deepak Pradhan.

The suspect and seized material were handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) Nampally for further investigation.
