Hyderabad: Commotion prevailed for an hour at Mailardevpally road when a man climbed a high-tension electricity pole after a quarrel with his two wives on Sunday.

The man, Arun, a resident of Mailardevpally, has two wives and there are issues between him and his wives over finances. On Sunday, the second wife of the man got into a quarrel with Arun and abused him as he was not giving any money for household expenses. Arun is currently staying with his first wife.

On Sunday, after a quarrel with his second wife, he came to the Mailardevpally police station in an inebriated condition. The man then climbed on the high-tension power cable in front of the police station and started shouting.

The police who noticed him on the pole tried to persuade him to come down. The fire department personnel rushed to the spot and spread a safety net to ensure a safe landing for him in case he jumped. A few people then climbed onto the pole and brought him down. He was later shifted to police station.
