Man commits suicide as neighbours block way to his house in Siddipet
Inaction over a man's complaint to officials about his neighbours blocking the way to his house in Siddipet, drove him to suicide. A case was registered by the police and the investigation is on
Siddipet: Official inaction over his complaints drove a man to end his life at Mandapalli in Siddipet urban mandal on Monday.
The victim Jindam Siddi Ramulu (60) consumed pesticide, unable to bear harassment.
He died while undergoing treatment in the government hospital in Siddipet hours later.
According to family members, two families living in his neighbourhood had blocked the way to his house by building steps until the middle of the road from both sides.
Though Siddi Ramulu filed a complaint with panchayath secretary Bhavani, she did not take any action so far.
Later, he also filed a complaint to the collector who directed the district panchayat officer to inquire into the matter.
Even after the inquiry, the officials failed to take any action against both these families.
Meanwhile, the family members complained that the neighbours also threatened to block laying power lines to Siddi Ramulu’s residence. Worried over their inaction and harassment of neighbours, Siddi Ramulu took the extreme step.
The police registered a case and the probe was on.
