Hyderabad: The city police on Sunday detained a person on charges of attempting to extort money using the name of a Minister from a corporate hospital treating children in Banjara Hills.
Claiming to be a personal assistant to the Minister, he demanded money from the hospital. After enquiring about him, the management lodged a complaint with the police, who booked a case against the person.
Police inquiries revealed that similar cases were booked against the suspect at the Osmania University and Bachupally police stations. The police are collecting more information about the suspect before remanding him to custody.
