Man dies by suicide after setting car on fire in Hyderabad
A 40-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after setting his car on fire while inside the vehicle at Bowrampet on Monday. Police identified him as Karthik and said preliminary inquiries indicated he was facing health and financial problems.

Hyderabad: A 40-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after setting his car on fire while he was inside the vehicle at Bowrampet in Dundigal on Monday.
According to the police, around 7 am on Monday, they received information about a car burning in an open area and rushed to the spot. On reaching the location, they found the vehicle engulfed in flames with someone inside. After dousing the fire, the police pulled out the body.
The man was identified as Karthik, a resident of Praneeth Pranav Villas, Bowrampet, and owner of a laundry. The police said he was found in the driver’s seat and had allegedly poured petrol on himself and the vehicle before setting it ablaze.
Preliminary inquiries indicated that he had been facing health and financial problems. His wife had reportedly been living separately from him for the past two-and-a-half years.
The relatives reportedly told the police that he had been battling depression for more than two years.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
