Hyderabad: A 43-year-old man died by suicide at his house in Hayathnagar, allegedly due to harassment by the local police and two others on Wednesday.
According to the police, D Madhusudhan (43), a resident of Laxmi Priya Colony in Hayathnagar, was also the president of the local colony welfare association.
On Tuesday night, he went into a room in his house to sleep. On Wednesday morning, when he did not come out of the room, his family members broke open the door and noticed that Madhusudhan was hanging from the ceiling fan.
In a suicide note purportedly written by him and found in the room, Madhusudhan blamed one Boda Yadagiri Goud, the latter’s brother Ramana, the local police and a few other individuals.
“We have registered a case and are investigating,” said Hayathnagar Sub Inspector K Laxminarayana.
After the incident, relatives of Madhusudhan took the body and kept it in front of the house of Yadagiri Goud, demanding action against him. The police were present in large numbers to prevent trouble.
The higher officials have ordered an enquiry into the incident.
