Man dies by suicide in Hyderabad after employer fails to repay Rs. 13 lakh

A man from Chandanagar, Hyderabad, died by suicide after his employer allegedly failed to return Rs. 13 lakh he had lent seven years ago. Police said financial distress and pressure from acquaintances led him to take the extreme step

Hyderabad: Upset over an unpaid debt, a man died by suicide in HUDA Colony, Chandanagar, on Monday.

The man, identified as Purushotham Reddy, had reportedly lent Rs. 13 lakh to his employer, Rajan Babu, around seven years ago after borrowing the amount from acquaintances.

Despite repeated requests, the employer allegedly failed to return the money. Distressed over the non-repayment and mounting financial pressure, Purushotham Reddy hanged himself at his residence.

Based on a complaint lodged by his son, Harinath Reddy, the Chandanagar police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
