Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Five persons have been arrested in connection with the electrocution of a man at Navedhari village in Wankidi mandal, police said on Wednesday.
According to Wankidi Sub-Inspector Prashant, Pusham Keshavrao, Mandore Bursa, Madavi Bheemrao — all from Navedhari — along with Arka Ramesh of Rampur and Madavi Bheem were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the death of Athram Tirupathi on December 29. The arrests were made following a complaint lodged by Tirupathi’s wife Sangeetha on July 3.
During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed that they had taken Tirupathi to the forest to lay an electrified fence for hunting wild animals. He was electrocuted in the process. The accused then misled his family by claiming he had died of natural causes, after which the funeral was conducted.
However, the family later learned from local residents that Tirupathi had died due to electrocution. Based on this information, a case of culpable homicide was registered against the five, and further investigations are underway.
