Man evicted from shop records video, ends life in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A man, who was allegedly upset over losses in business and forcibly made to vacate his mobile shop, died by suicide after recording a video in his house in Chaitanyapuri, police said on Saturday.
According to the police, the victim Rajender Reddy was running the mobile shop from a rented premises for quite sometime. However, for the last few months, he ran into losses and was reportedly unable to pay the rent to the owner Rajanna, who allegedly pressurized him for the rent.
In the video, Rajender Reddy said despite his pleas, Rajanna threw out furniture and other material from the shop and forcibly made him to vacate the shop.
“He also did not return the advance paid for the shop nor any damage expenses. The owner is responsible for my death,” he said, requesting for an ex gratia of Rs.10 lakh for his family.
He ended his life by hanging from the ceiling fan in his bedroom. The Chaitanyapuri police booked a case and are investigating.
