Hyderabad: Telangana Forest Department on Wednesday penalised a resident of Dilsukhnagar in the city for axing a tree located in front of his house.
A penalty of Rs 12,000 was imposed on the person residing in Chaitanyapuri, Dilshuknagar. The complaint was reported to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials through Twitter following which, the Urban Biodiversity wing of the civic body co-ordinated with the forest officials and the penalty was imposed.
