Man gets 20 years in jail for raping mentally challenged minor in Jagtial

The Special Court directs Chetpalli Narayana to pay Rs 2 lakh as compensation to the victim

JAGTIAL: A Fast-track Special Court on Wednesday sentenced Chetpalli Narayana alias Topi Narayana to 20 years of imprisonment on charges of raping a minor girl. Narayana had raped the minor girl, who was mentally challenged as well, in the Mallial police station limits. Police registered a case under the POCSO Act against the accused and produced him before the court.

After going through all evidence, the special court judge Justice Neelima sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000. The judge also directed Narayana to pay Rs 2 lakh as compensation to the victim.
