Sangareddy: The POCSO Court in Sangareddy handed down 20 years rigorous punishment to Kalivemula Papaiah, who was accused of raping a four year old minor girl at Mallepally village in Kondapur Mandal in 2019.
Convicting him in the case after hearing the arguments of the lawyers, Justice Maithreyi announced her verdict on Thursday. Justice Maithreyi sentenced him to 20 years rigorous punishment besides imposing Rs 1,000 fine.
Papaiah raped his neighbour’s daughter when she was alone at home. Following a complaint from parents of the victim, Kondapur Police registered a case under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) Act then.
