Jagtial: Additional District and Session Court, Karimnagar, sentenced a person to five years imprisonment and Rs 6,000 fine for attempting to rape his minor daughter.

Delivering the verdict, Judge Dr S Srinivas Reddy on Thursday handed down the sentence to the accused Srinu Guruvaiah, a native of Venkatraopet of Metpally mandal. Guruvaiah behaved abnormally with his minor girl and attempted to rape her in 2015.

Based on a complaint lodged by the girl, Metpally police had registered a case against Guruvaiah under sections 354, 354(B), 376(f), 376(i), r/w 511 and under the POCSO Act.
