Hyderabad: A local court here on Wednesday sentenced a 35-year-old person to seven years of imprisonment for sexually violating a 13-year-old girl in Shamshabad in 2015.
It has also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on the accused. On April 26, 2015, the girl was sent by a relative to purchase toddy from a nearby toddy compound at Shamshabad railway station when the accused befriended her and took her to the outskirts of Shamshabad village and raped her. The girl later returned home and informed her paternal aunt.
Based on a complaint, the Cyberabad Police registered a case and arrested the accused. Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar appreciated the investigating officer T Sudhakar and other officers for their efforts in getting conviction to the accused.
