Hyderabad: Upset after an argument with his wife over going to his native place for local festivities there, a man died allegedly by suicide in his house in Jawaharnagar on Tuesday. He is suspected to have ended his life in an inebriated condition, police said.
Police said Srisailam (32), an auto-rickshaw driver from Kommuravelli of Siddipet district, was staying with his wife Kavitha and two sons at Gabillalapet in Jawaharnagar. He was reportedly addicted to alcohol and went home drunk and picked up a quarrel with his wife.
According to the police, on Tuesday, he went home in an inebriated condition and told her to get ready to go to his native place for celebrations at his village on February 7.
“He wanted to take the family in his auto though he was inebriated. She refused and they had a heated argument over it,” an official said, adding, after the others went to sleep, Srisailam ended his life by hanging from the ceiling fan. The Jawaharnagar police shifted the body to the Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was booked and an investigation is being under way.
