Man held for allegedly running unauthorised care centre in Golconda

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force (Golconda team), along with Golconda police, busted an unauthorised care centre allegedly being run by an unqualified person and seized a large quantity of unlabelled medicines in Golconda.

Police apprehended Mohd Adnan, 23, of Dhankota, Golconda, for allegedly running Hikma Sehath Care Centre at Mohallgunj without a valid licence or the required medical qualification. His mother, Saba Khan alias Mohammadi Begum, and brother, Mohd Faizan, were reportedly absconding.

According to police, the trio allegedly posed as qualified doctors and treated patients for sexual health issues, breathing problems, chest pain, vomiting, body pain, kidney ailments and urinary problems. They allegedly issued prescriptions and supplied medicines without proper labels.

During a raid on September 22, police seized several unlabelled medicines, prescription books and promotional material from the centre.

Police said Adnan had completed only Intermediate (CEC). He allegedly promoted the centre through social media news platforms. Investigators also found that he had worked as support staff at Hikma Health Care in 2023 and had an arrangement with a BUMS practitioner who occasionally visited the clinic.

Further investigation is underway.
