Hyderabad: A woman was allegedly cheated and impregnated by a 30-year-old man at Hayathnagar. She was allegedly trapped and sexually assaulted multiple times by the man after promising to marry her.

According to the police, the victim lived in the same neighbourhood where Anil, the suspect lived, and was lured by him when she was staying in the house during the lockdown. He allegedly sexually assaulted her in the absence of her family members. Recently, the victim, after feeling uneasy, went to the hospital, where doctors said she was two months pregnant.

When she informed Anil and asked him to marry her, he refused and started threatening and avoiding her. Based on a complaint, the Hayathnagar police booked a case and took up investigation. Efforts are on to nab Anil, who is absconding.
