Man held for escaping with scooter on pretext of test drive

Hyderabad: The Jagadgirigutta police have arrested a man for allegedly duping a scooter owner through an OLX fraud and fleeing with the vehicle during a test ride.
The incident took place at Vallabhai Residency Apartments in Gajularamaram, where the complainant, B Sadgun, had listed his Honda Activa for sale on OLX.
A prospective buyer approached him and requested a test ride, but escaped with the scooter.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation. The suspect was identified as Appari Vishwa Phanindra and taken into custody.
During questioning, it was revealed that he, along with his associate Ongole Ramesh, had been targeting sellers on OLX, stealing vehicles under the pretext of test rides, and later reselling them.
Police recovered the stolen scooter and said efforts were on to trace and nab the absconding suspect.
