Man held for fuel pilferage in Hyderabad
Police said, for some days, Goud on the instructions of Mohd Mujahid, the owner of the tanker, was allegedly stealing diesel from the tanker thereby cheating IOCL
Hyderabad: The Nacharam police on Friday arrested the driver of an oil tanker on charges of fuel pilferage at Gokul Nagar in Mallapur. The suspect, N Naresh Goud (30), was driving the fuel tanker which was engaged on a contract basis with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to transport the fuel to various places.
Police said, for some days, Goud on the instructions of Mohd Mujahid, the owner of the tanker, was allegedly stealing diesel from the tanker thereby cheating IOCL. Based a tip-off, the police caught Goud while he was stealing the fuel, while Mujahid went absconding. The fuel tanker was handed over to the Civil Supplies Department for further action. The Nacharam police are investigating.
