Warangal Rural: Parvathagiri police on Monday arrested a man for murdering his two wives in separate incidents.
Disclosing details at the Warangal Police Commissionerate in Hanamkonda, DCP (East Zone) K Venkatalakshmi said Karne Kiran (36), a resident of Enugallu village of Parvathagiri mandal in the district, attacked his wife Odapalli Anjali (42) in the early hours of May 13 following a quarrel for money to buy liquor. Though Anjali was admitted to MGM Hospital in Warangal by the neighbours, she succumbed to injuries on May 14.
Kiran married Anjali in 2019. She was working as ANM at Sadireddypet PHC in Huzurabad mandal of Karimnagar district.
“Based on a complaint lodged by the parents of the deceased, the Parvathagiri police registered a case and arrested the accused,” the DCP said.
During interrogation, Kiran also revealed that he had already killed his first wife Chiliveru Padma of Gavicherla village of Sangem mandal in 2014. “He confessed to thrashing his first wife to death. He buried the body in the house itself,” the DCP said.
The police said that Kiran, who had no job, used to torture his wives suspecting their fidelity. The police, in the course of investigation, found that Kiran had even taken videos on his cell phone while torturing his wives as he used to get ‘sadistic pleasure.’ The accused married Chilirveru Padma by duping her in the name of love.
