Man held for rape attempt in Nirmal
Based on a complaint received from the victim, a case was registered against Saheb Rao and investigations were taken up
Nirmal: A man was arrested for attempting to rape a married woman and injuring at Dodarna village in Kubeer mandal on Saturday.
Bhainsa Rural Inspector Nylu said that Saheb Rao, a tractor owner and farmer from the village, was arrested for attempting to commit sexual assault on a woman and injuring her when she was alone in her home on September 26. Based on a complaint received from the victim, a case was registered against Rao and investigations were taken up. Rao confessed to committing the crime. He admitted to grabbing her mobile phone to cover up his offence and fled the spot. He was harassing her seeking sexual favors for six months. Elders of the village reprimanded him, but he did not mend his ways.
Police had formed special teams to nab Rao.
