Kumram Bheem-Asifabad: A man was arrested for allegedly selling illicit liquor produced in Maharashtra, locally known as desi daru, in Kaghaznagar on Monday. As many as 160 bottles of 90 ml of the country alcohol each were recovered from him.
Prohibition and Excise Inspector Mahender Singh said that the accused was identified as Mohammad Afroz, a resident of Kaghaznagar town. He was detained when he was selling the illicit liquor during a raid by the sleuths of the department, following a tip-off.
During the course of the interrogation, Afroz confessed to committing the crime to make a fast buck. He admitted that he had purchased the arrack in the neighbouring State and was selling the same to concumers in Kaghaznagar. He disclosed that he was moving to different parts of the town on scooter to dispose of the unrefined liquor.
Sub-Inspector Rajender and other police personnel Saleem, Kumar, Hussain, Bhaskar and Durga Prasad took part in the raid.
